This subject was brought up in the old format. Is it possible that Owner Manuals could be made available on this web site. I would be interested in purchasing a manual for a SC27 because there are so many things on this boat that puzzle me. For example "why is there an a turning block in the spinnaker pole"? How can I use it? I would like to rig my boat as it was intended to be sailed.

Hugh,
The CS27 never came with an owners manual like the bigger boats did.
Having said that, the free version of this board does not allow file attachments. Even the photos have to be linked to via your own server, photobucket, or flickr.
If anyone has manuals that are not already posted in the other site, I can upload them onto the yahoogroups site and make them available for download.

Is it a sheave in the pole itself or is it an actual block on the end of the pole? If it is a block, it is likely for the downhaul. If it is a sheave, it may not be a spin pole but instead is a reaching strut. How long is the pole? Reaching struts are only 4-6' long while a spin pole should be the length between the base of your mast to the forestay +/-.

Are you sure it is a spinnaker pole and not an extendable whisker pole? The spin pole is fixed length and long. A reaching strut is much shorter. If you pull on the line coming out of the block does the pole elongate?
